Advance National Democracy!

  1. Livelihood and economy for the Filipino
    • Genuine land reform with moratorium on land conversion
    • National industrialization and support for Filipino industry
    • Subsidy for farmers to lower the prices of food, especially rice
    • Upholding the right to fish in our waters, fresh and seawater bodies, municipal fisheries and the West Philippine Sea (WPS)
    • Livable daily minimum wage of P1200 (~21 USD) for workers and monthly P33k (~582 USD) for the public sector SG1 and P50k monthly (~882 USD) for nurses and teachers
    • Junking contractualization, upholding regular jobs and ending flexible labor policy
    • Scrapping VAT (Value-Added Tax) for oil, electricity, water and medications
    • Protection for OFWs, Informal Workers, and Platform Workers
    • Wealth Tax for billionaire Filipinos
  2. Services for All
    • Expansion of free education and allocating no less than 6% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) for the budget on Education
    • Free and comprehensive health services at all levels, and budget for Health no less than 5% of the GDP
    • Progressive, nationalist and mass-oriented public transportation and support for PH-made jeeps
    • Housing security: safe and accessible, mass-oriented housing
    • Make water, electricity, road, transportation, markets as public goods
  3. National Sovereignty
    • Upholding pro-Philippine foreign policy
    • Ending all unequal treaties with foreign powers including RP-US Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT), Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) and Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA)
    • Closing the nine or more US military bases in the Philippines, rejecting weapons and US troops that are stationed in the PH
    • Upholding the diplomatic and peaceful resolution of the West Philippine Se (WPS) conflict, in accordance with international law
    • Upholding peace and rejecting war as an instrument of foreign policy, and prohibiting the entry and storage of nuclear arms in the country
  4. Caring for the Environment
    • Uphold our right to a safe environment, ending destructive environmental projects and upholding pro-environmental laws
    • Ending massive dams that are destructive to the environment and livelihood of the people and forced displacement of indigenous peoples from their ancestral domain and farmland
    • 10-year moratorium on the large-scale operations of logging, mining and reclamation
    • Offering adequate aid and payment for damages or compensation for spoiled crops, homelessness and loss of property caused by calamities
    • Tighten regulation against air, water (river and sea) and land pollution
  5. Rights and Peace
    • Upholding the Human RIghts Defenders Act
    • Junking the Anti-Terrorism Law (ATL), and abolition of the NTF-ELCAC
    • Reopen the Peace Talks with the NDFP to find the solution to socio-economic problems that are at the root of the armed conflict
    • Uphold the right to unionize, strike and guarantees to job security. Revise the Labor Code and junk the provisions which contradict these rights
    • Prohibition of red tagging and other forms of repression to the freedom of expression and right to organize
    • Upholding the rights of the Indigenous and the Bangsamoro to their self-determination and their ancestral domain. Paying of damages to the residents of Marawi and ensuring that they can rebuild their homes.
    • Ending the militarization of the countryside and the ruthless bombing of communities
    • Hold accountable the most severe violators of human rights and international humanitarian law
  6. Advance the rights of women, and the fight against discrimination, exploitation and abuse
    • Uphold the equal status and rights for women, and gender equality
    • End all forms of violence and discrimination against youth, women, Moro and Indigenous, LGBTQ+, the elderly and those with disabilities
    • Strengthen the Anti-Rape Law and Anti-VAWC Law
    • Ensure the immediate services, and justice for the victims of violence and abuse
    • Enact into law the Magna Carta of Daycare Workers, Divorce Bill and SOGIESC Equality BIll
  7. Democratic Leadership
    • Enact into law prohibitions against political dynasty
    • Junk automated elections and uphold a hybrid election system
    • Legislate support for whistleblowers and exposers of corruption
    • Reform the Partylist System
    • Building true power among the people and strengthening our participation in issues of governance
    • Upholding our nationalist spirit and nationalist policies in governance
  8. Nationalist Culture
    • Advance nationalist, scientific and mass-oriented culture as a national policy
    • Advancing nationalist art and culture
    • Advancing study of history, including the including abuses and the resistance under the Marcos Sr. dictatorship, at all levels of education
    • Support the enrichment of Moro and Indigenous culture as a part of the overall study of Pilipino culture
    • Enriching Filipino language

    • During this election season and even after it, let’s continue to fight for national democracy as the genuine solution to the crisis that our people are facing.
    • Let’s continue to build our power as people by building organizations. Only through collective action can we achieve our long-held aspiration for the genuine freedom and democracy in our country.
